These two request types differ from leave requests in one important way: they directly affect your pay. If you submit incompletely or late, your working hours won't be counted.
Overtime request
Go to Requests › + Create request › Time & Attendance › Overtime.
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Employee | Your name |
| Date | The overtime date |
| Overtime type | Weekday, day off, or public holiday — each type has a different pay rate |
| Start time — end time | The actual overtime hours |
| Reason | The specific work that requires overtime to complete |
The most common policy is to request approval before working overtime, not after. If you work overtime first and then request it, the approver has no way to verify it, and many companies will reject it.
Choose the correct Overtime type. If you work overtime on a Sunday but choose weekday, the pay rate will be lower — and nobody will notice until you get paid.
Business trip / off-site request
Go to Requests › + Create request › Time & Attendance › Business trip/Off-site. This request type serves two purposes:
- Avoid being marked absent when you work off-site and don't clock in at a fixed location.
- Request a business trip allowance along with it, if your company has such a policy.
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Start date — end date | The period of the business trip |
| Location | Destination |
| Reason / Work description | Purpose of the trip |
| Accompanying allowance | If your company has configured it — select the applicable allowance level |
Submit the business trip request before the trip. If you submit it after you've already gone, those days will already be marked absent on the timesheet and must be corrected manually, with an explanation.
The other three time & attendance request types
| Request type | Use when |
|---|---|
| Late arrival, early departure | You know in advance that you will arrive late or leave early and want to notify ahead of time |
| Change clock-in/out time | You forgot to clock in, or the machine recorded the wrong time — this request corrects the attendance data |
| Shift registration | You take an open shift (article B7-12) |
After the request is approved
- Overtime request — overtime hours go into the timesheet and are calculated using the rate of the selected overtime type.
- Business trip request — those days are not marked absent; the allowance (if any) goes into the pay period.
- Change clock-in/out time request — the attendance data for that day is updated.
At the end of each month, check your timesheet yourself against the requests you submitted before the timesheet is locked. After it is locked, corrections become much more complicated (article B6-15).
