Tanca is an HR management platform for the whole company: time & attendance, payroll, requests, profiles, recruitment, training, and performance management all live in one system and share a single source of employee data. This article explains what Tanca can do before you start clicking around.
Three problems Tanca was built to solve
| Problem | Common symptoms | How Tanca handles it |
|---|---|---|
| HR data is scattered | Profiles in an Excel file, attendance on the attendance machine, contracts in a filing cabinet, annual leave in HR's notebook | A single employee profile that every other module reads from |
| Time & attendance and payroll done by hand | At month-end HR sits reconciling timesheets and retyping them into Excel; one wrong row means the whole payroll is wrong | Attendance data flows straight into the timesheet and then into the pay period, with no retyping |
| No visibility into capability and performance | Year-end reviews based on gut feeling, no idea who is about to quit, no idea who is ready for a higher position | KPIs, OKRs, competency frameworks, the 9-box matrix, and headcount planning live in the same place as HR data |
Core principle: a single source of data
Every module in Tanca takes its data from the employee profile. When you change someone's department, their time & attendance, requests, payroll, and reports all update accordingly — you don't have to edit four different places.
This is also why the first article you should read is A2-01 7-Day Go-Live Roadmap: if employee data is entered incorrectly from the start, every downstream module will be off as well.
Who uses Tanca and for what
| Role | Most common tasks in Tanca |
|---|---|
| Employee | Clock in, submit leave and overtime requests, view payslips, view work schedules |
| Line manager | Approve requests, schedule shifts for the team, assign tasks, review employees each cycle |
| HR | Manage profiles and contracts, finalize timesheets, run pay periods, recruitment, training |
| Leadership | View HR reports, headcount planning, payroll costs, the talent matrix |

What Tanca is not
- Tanca is not accounting software. Tanca calculates the payroll and can export bank transfer files, but it doesn't replace accounting or e-invoicing software.
- Tanca does not replace a full ERP. Tanca manages people; production, inventory, and sales are outside its scope.
- Tanca doesn't automatically know your internal policies. Attendance calculation rules, overtime coefficients, and leave balances must all be configured once during setup.
