A blank page or an endless loading spinner is almost always one of three things: an outdated cache, your network, or a data table that is too large. This article addresses each one in turn.
Do this right away, in order
- Reload bypassing the cache: `Ctrl + F5` (Windows) or `Cmd + Shift + R` (Mac).
- Open an incognito window and go back in. If it works there, the problem is the cache or a browser extension.
- Clear the cache and cookies for the Tanca address, then log in again.
- Disable browser extensions, especially ad blockers and security extensions.
- Try a different network — switch from the company Wi-Fi to 4G.
Steps 1 and 2 resolve most blank-page cases after Tanca releases an update. The browser still holds files from the old version while the server is already running the new one; the two don't match, so the page can't render.
If it's only slow, not blank
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| One particular table is very slow | The date range being viewed is too wide | Narrow the date filter, or Export the file and view it in Excel |
| Slow when many Tanca tabs are open | Your computer is handling too many sessions | Close some, keep one tab |
| Slow at the same time every day | Coincides with internal peak hours, or the company network | Move heavy work to another time, or notify your IT department |
| Slow on every page, every device, for many people | A system-side incident | Report it to support immediately — see article D1-06 |
Minimum browser requirements
- Use a recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari. A very old browser is a common cause of blank pages.
- Set the zoom level to 100% — zooming in breaks the layout of wide tables.
- Enable JavaScript and allow cookies for the Tanca address.
Gather information before contacting support
For display issues, the technical information below greatly shortens the time to resolution:
- Take a full-screen screenshot, clearly showing the address bar.
- Open the developer tools with the `F12` key, select the Console tab, and take a screenshot of the red error lines.
- Note the browser name and version, and the operating system.
- Note the address of the page with the error and when the error occurred.
- State clearly whether the error happens for everyone or only for you.
If an incognito window works normally, say so clearly in the ticket. This is an important clue that immediately rules out server-side causes.
