The camera recognizes employees' faces as they walk past, with no action required. This is the most thorough way to prevent buddy punching, and also the most expensive in terms of hardware.

Connect through a provider

Tanca does not manufacture cameras itself but connects to providers' devices. The screen currently lists HANET — Time & attendance with Artificial Intelligence Camera. Click Connect to get started.

TO BE ADDED: the steps within the HANET connection flow (entering the API key, selecting cameras, assigning cameras to branches) and how to register employees' faces. The test environment does not yet have a device to capture screenshots. Coordination with the implementation team is needed.

Preparation before installation

• Mounting position: at face height, avoid backlighting, and avoid facing large glass doors.
• Lighting: bright enough both early in the morning and at night. This is the deciding factor for the recognition rate.
• Network: the camera needs a stable connection to push data to the system.
• Power: continuous power, with a backup plan for power outages.
• Face registration: each employee needs to have their face registered before the system can recognize them.

After installation

• Turn on the Require AI face recognition when starting a shift toggle in Settings › General if you want to enforce its use — see B6-03.
• Monitor the Attendance photos screen during the first week to catch misrecognitions — see B6-16.
• Run it in parallel with the old method for at least a week before dropping the old one entirely.

Notes on biometric data

Face images are sensitive personal data. Clearly inform employees about the collection, purpose of use, and retention period before rolling it out. This is both a legal obligation and a condition for employees' cooperation.
