Clocking in via a mobile phone involves downloading the Tanca mobile app and using it to record attendance based on the configured methods.

Steps:

Step 1: Download the Tanca app from the app store.

Step 2: Log in with your existing account.

Step 3: Tap the "Clock In" button on the home page.

Step 4: Select the work shift that you need to clock in for.

Step 5: If you meet the requirements for clocking in using Wi-Fi, GPS, or QR code, the system will switch to "Clock Out" mode.

Q&A:

Question 1: Why am I unable to clock in even though I'm at the correct location?
Answer: Issues with location-based clocking in can include:

  1. The user's device has not granted GPS permission to Tanca.
  2. The phone's GPS is unstable, and the device needs to be restarted, or the user should check Google Maps.
  3. Updates to Android or iOS versions can affect GPS functionality.
  4. Conflicts between the device and Tanca app. In this case, the user should report the issue in the app for Tanca to investigate.

Question 2: Why does my phone notify me that the app is using my location?
Answer: If the administrator has enabled the location tracking feature during shifts, the app will request permission from the user (employee). When granted, the app will track the real-time location and notify the user on their phone.

Question 3: What happens if I forget to clock out?
Answer: Two scenarios may occur:

  1. If you forget to clock out, the clock-out button will still be displayed on your phone the next day.
  2. If your company uses the Auto Clock-Out feature for the following day, the system will display the clock-in button the next day.

Question 4: Why can't I clock in even though I'm connected to the correct Wi-Fi?
Answer: After some time, the BSSID of a Wi-Fi may change. Therefore, even if you connect to the correct Wi-Fi name, you might not be able to clock in due to the BSSID change. In this case, please inform your manager to update the new BSSID.

Question 5: How do I know the required clock-in radius?
Answer: Some phones may have a GPS discrepancy of several meters compared to the map (due to cached location or incorrect settings), which can prevent you from clocking in even at the correct location. You can configure the radius in the location settings; the optimal radius is between 500-1000 meters.
Tanca uses GPS coordinates provided by your device (phone). In some cases, if your phone has not updated its location, the recorded location in Tanca may differ from your actual location. To update your current location:
Open the default map app on your phone (Google Maps, Apple Maps), check your current location on the map, and tap the "My Location" button.

Question 6: Can the system detect locations in tall buildings within the allowed radius?
Answer: No! Tanca cannot detect locations inside tall buildings. To verify your location in high-rise buildings, you should enable the feature that provides both images and GPS.

Question 7: Does the app require face verification when clocking in?
Answer: Some employees may be required to verify their face when clocking in. The system will check the employee's face before the clock-in process is completed.

Question 8: Will an employee be detected if they spoof their location?
Answer: Tanca will alert managers of any risks associated with location spoofing during clocking in. You can view these alerts in the settings section.

Question 9: How can I set up reminders for missed clock-in?
Answer: You can configure this in the Tanca app on your phone under Account -> Alert Settings.
